I've mentioned your post on my Genealogy Leftovers blog in '<a href="http://genie-leftovers.blogspot.com/2011/05/attending-genealogy-conferences.html" rel="nofollow">Attending Genealogy Conferences</a>', where I talked about why I love genealogy conferences, how organisers can entice me to attend, how I save money, cheaper accommodation, etc.Judy Websterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02331380147873608965noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-691016683378293851.post-71548196945537202642011-05-07T11:54:09.868-04:002011-05-07T11:54:09.868-04:00Creative and well thought out suggestions! I find that making personal connections, both with other attendees and with presenters and vendors, is one of the most satisfying components of a conference.Shelley Bishophttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07488453243236670013noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-691016683378293851.post-2613291767532811622011-05-06T21:46:14.914-04:002011-05-06T21:46:14.914-04:00Excellent suggestions; I hope that at least some o...Excellent suggestions; I hope that at least some of these are implemented at various conferences.Greta Koehlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05429623811794360612noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-691016683378293851.post-7093520292510657322011-05-06T16:41:31.481-04:002011-05-06T16:41:31.481-04:00Great points all around, Marian.Great points all around, Marian.Cynthia Shenettehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07089125778529696076noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-691016683378293851.post-56567739933477823322011-05-06T16:21:08.786-04:002011-05-06T16:21:08.786-04:00Ditto, ditto, ditto. There is also the challenge of concurrent sessions that one would like to attend. I would like more options to purchase the audio or video of a session we couldn't get to because we were were in another session.<br /><br />Another challenge is to have adequate wifi connections all through the conference rooms and vendor hall. I know it is expensive but being connected benefits all by increasing exposure to genealogy. We can tweet and facebook highlights and share with those that can't attend.Joan Miller (Luxegen)http://www.luxegen.canoreply@blogger.com
